Our story

Anam Khalid and Wajdan Gul are a wife and husband team who are inspired by the journey of self-actualisation. It may sound grandiose, but self-actualisation is described as “the realisation of one’s potential and the full development of one’s abilities and appreciation for life”. They’re committed to fulfilment, not only for themselves, but for all around them. From humble beginnings, growing up in Pakistan, the pair threw themselves into education with a focus on creating new opportunities, for them and for their families.

Fast forward to 2016 and they were living in Dubai, exciting careers in front of them, heads full of ideas and an active lifestyle that kept them sharp. Self improvement of mind and body. But as they ventured further into the world of gym, they realised there wasn’t a gym wear brand with an exact match to their values. They wanted something that shared their honesty and integrity, and with a true athletic fit. Products that worked as hard as they did and were crafted for their well-earned physiques.

They sought a gym brand with a focus on the whole package and not just on looks. With no obvious contender in the Middle East region, they were compelled to create their own. Research went on for hours, which quickly became days and weeks, as their thirst for knowledge took over. Who could design the products? Where should they be made? How can we sell them? And, importantly - what do we call the brand?

Anam and Waj wanted a name that evoked their personal values yet gave clarity to what the brand would be about. In gym terms, the squat is the most effective exercise for targeting multiple muscle groups. Maximum impact. The wolf is synonymous with leadership, courage and teamwork.


SQUATWOLF. A BRAND WAS BORN.

The next step was to build a like-minded community. The project was never about their personal needs, or a ruthless pursuit of a market opportunity. Wolves exist as a pack, and SQUATWOLF was to be no different. 

SQUATWOLF would elevate the human experience, lifting the weight of modern life by creating components that help people become stronger. The brand grew exponentially over the following few years, initially in the Middle East, but very quickly on a global scale. People were starting to hear about SQUATWOLF, aligning with the brand values and making themselves part of the pack. With great power comes great responsibility, and SQUATWOLF is now a brand with an evolving mission.
