Polygiene® ViralOff® 4-Layered Mask by SQUAT WOLF
A daily use mask with a snug and adjustable fit that helps you breathe easily. The 4 layers concept is to maximize the antimicrobial properties while making it durable. The mask features an adjustable metal nose strip and ear straps with cinch fastening for a secure and comfortable fit.
The 4 Layers:
- The outer and inner layer are made of Polygience® ViralOff® antimicrobial performance fabric. These layers play a key role in blocking infectious particles with 99% reduction of many different viruses. Also, these layers are moisture wicking and quick dry, making sure the inside of your mask doesn’t feel wet.
- The middle layer is a non-woven fused fabric. This layer acts as an extra filter for added filtration.
- The exterior face mask has a pleated design for more surface area allowing you to expand the mask from your nose to your chin.

What is ViralOff®?
ViralOff® was created by Swedish hygiene specialist Polygiene. The CEO of Polygiene says “think of it as a sanitizer for garments”. ViralOff works on any kind of garment or surface.
A garment treated by ViralOff® reduces the virus by 99% in 2 hours as per ISO18184:2019 test. It is a durable treatment that doesn’t vanish from the garments after a few washes. Our masks retain this antimicrobial property for up to 100+ washes.
What is it made of?
ViralOff® is a biocide that is safe for human skin. Chemically, it is made of titanium dioxide and silver chloride. This is not a nanosilver.
How does it work?
ViralOff® kills the virus on the surface by acting on the key proteins of the virus that slows down the metabolism, preventing it from infecting other cells. ViralOff® blocks an array of viruses with a reduction rate of 99%, on a treated material, within a 2 hours timespan.
How long does the treatment last for?
This mask retains its anti-microbial properties even after 50 washes and anti-viral properties for more than 10 washes. It is durable, washable, and reusable. These masks should be washed depending on the frequency of use.
How do I wash the mask?
You should clean it with a damp cloth to lightly clean the mask. However, you can also wash it in a washing machine. It retains its properties to up to 100+ washes. To keep the treatment on for a longer period of time, washing it manually is more suitable than washing it in a machine.
Is ViralOff® safe for the skin?
Yes, it doesn’t interact with the skin’s natural bacteria flora.
Where is it produced?
The ingredient chemistry is manufactured in Germany with minimal use of resources and in accordance with strict environmental regulations. Masks are made in Thailand.
How to safely remove the used mask from the face?
When removing the mask, make sure you don’t touch your eyes, nose, or mouth. Also, wash your hands thoroughly once the mask has been removed.

PM 2.5 Filters have proven to be extremely effective in blocking out hazardous nanoparticles. These are five-layered filters that can be used with Polygiene® ViralOff® Face Masks or any other cotton or cloth face mask. Lab tests have shown that a PM2.5 filter coupled with a cloth mask can reduce airborne particles by 90%. PM2.5 filters can be used continuously for a 16 to 24 hour period and retain their filtering properties over years.
The five layers:
- There are 2 layers of melt-blown fabric. This is a non-woven fabric that blocks microscopic particles. It also has electrostatic properties which act as a barrier against nano-particles in the air.
- There are two layers of Spun-bond fabric. This fabric helps in filtering larger particles in the air and provides structural support to the Melt-blown layers.
- There is one layer of activated charcoal. This layer traps particles through a process called absorption, it also works as deodorizer and antibacterial.

How effective are PM2.5 Filters?
These filters are tested to KN95 standards and work effectively to filter out hazardous particles in the air. PM2.5 Filter coupled with a cloth face mask has proven to be effective against nano-particles.
Does the PM2.5 filter make it harder to breathe?
These filters provide the same level of protection with less resistance during inhalation as compared to the N95 and KN95 respirators. Laboratory tests showed that the maximum resistance during inhalation was 25% less than an N95 respirator.
What is the filter size?
The filter size is 120x80mm which usually fits in most mask slots.
Which masks can I use PM2.5 Filters with?
You can use PM2.5 filters with any kind of cotton or cloth mask.
Are PM2.5 filters washable?
These filters are not washable, however, they are durable and retain their effectiveness depending on the frequency of the usage.
How long can I use PM2.5 filter for?
You can use PM2.5 filters for a continuous period of 16 to 24 hours or 1 to 2 weeks of occasional use. You should change your filter when it becomes harder to breathe.
