“Do or do not – there is no try”

Q1. Tell us a bit about yourself

I started weightlifting to get stronger for gymnastics. It was a surprise to everyone, including me, to find out that I have a talent for it. I got where I am by lots of hard work, heavy lifting and plenty of candy.

Q2. What gets you out of bed every morning?

I am a kid – I would stay in bed if I could but I have to get up to go to school.

Q3. What will your legacy be?

I want to show people that no matter how little you are, you can be strong and do anything you put your mind to.

Q4. What’s a goal you are currently working on?

I want to keep winning medals in all my sports and getting better at what I do every day.

Q5Which book impacted you the most?

I love Ada Twist, Scientist by Andrea Beaty and The Princess and the Pony by Kate Beaton.

Q6. What is one thing that everyone should experience in your city?

When you come to Ottawa, you have to go to the Rideau Canal – you can go skating and get a beavertail in the winter and see all of the tulips in the summer!

Q7. What’s your favourite class to sweat at?

My favourite gymnastics workout is trampoline.

Q8. What song do you never get tired listening to?

Wannabe by the Spice Girls, Sucker by Jonas Brothers and Popcorn by Barenaked Ladies.
